Audacity Training

Audio Track in Audacity

Today, I’ve learned how to navigate the free audio tool called Audacity. I first recorded the audio from a podcast found on UNEPortfolio called Throughline, specifically the audio from their submission called Five Fingers Crush the Land. Since I recorded the audio through Audacity, instead of downloading and uploading the audio file, I already had the track in the app (pictured above). I spent some time learning the different tools within the app and I’ve found it is similar to most video-editing softwares such as Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve in regards to the audio editing. I played around and cut parts of the audio out and combined other parts to get rid of some audio that I found redundant. I now understand how to use audacity to edit audio files in order to create better-quality podcasts. This allows me to now help students create their podcasts for classes such as communications or history classes.
